Our Experience:
Oil Spill Response
Present since 2004, NRC operates a series of Tier 2 oil spill response centers throughout the region. Working in remote locations and harsh environments, we have been instrumental in the establishment of a highly reputable response capability in the area.
Our activities have included assistance in the design and positioning of oil spill bases, recruitment and training of more than 140 local personnel and the procurement and management of a diverse range of specialist oil spill equipment, vehicles and boats. In addition to responding during the emergency phase, our regional team has also undertaken soil and groundwater remediation services at sites contaminated by leaking oil pipelines.
Firefighting
NRC provides on-site fire teams to oil transportation operations in the Republic of Georgia. The fire teams provide round-the-clock first response capability along a major crude oil pipeline.
Consultancy and Training
NRC has undertaken numerous emergency response consultancy projects in the region since its establishment. These projects include a review of local firefighting capability; assessments of oil spill response containment sites and spill operations for pipeline operators; review and assessment of oil movement by rail; oil spill risk assessment for a marine terminal; and an engineering review of emergency pipeline repair capability and the development of associated contingency plans.
